Our History Glass Road Public Relations began as the idea of a Vice President at the publishing house for which Rebeca Seitz served as publicist. Rebeca - a mere four months into wedded bliss - had discovered she was expecting her first little one and began wrestling with that monumental issue every working mom faces: Do I stay home with my child? Do I have a career and motherhood? If so, how? At first, Rebeca laughed at the suggestion of opening a firm and dismissed it. Thank goodness her boss wasn't easily dissuaded and admonished Rebeca to consider the idea and pray about it before issuing a decision. She went home that evening and made a phone call to a deeply respected businessman whom she expected to also dismiss the thought. Instead, he supported it. Rebeca resigned from her position at Thomas Nelson Publishers the next morning and opened the doors of Glass Road Public Relations on May 1, 2005. She gave birth on May 19, 2005 to Anderson and caused a bit of client panic when her client learned Rebeca was on the phone during labor. Since its inception, the firm has remained dedicated to representing Christians creating works of entertainment. GRPR has represented everything from novels to movies, music to memoirs and all points in between. Several Christy Award and Gold Medallion nominees and winners have been represented in the marketplace by GRPR, along with gifted debut novelists. GRPR has also been honored to work with film industry veterans whose works have appeared on Showtime and been honored by various film festivals. You can find us at a great number of Christian writers conferences each year, sharing principles and techniques of publicity. Along the way, Rebeca furthered her commitment to GRPR by obtaining her Master's in Mass Communication from Murray State University in May 2009. She also provided another reason to enjoy the freelance life: Ella Christie was born in October 2008. In 2010, GRPR's involvement with film has expanded considerably and we enjoy partnering our authors with filmmakers around the country. Working in partnership with these filmmakers, GRPR is in pre-production on several projects and looks forward to continuing its growth in this area. The core of GRPR remains today what it has always been – to partner with those individuals and companies whose life-changing stories create excellent entertainment from a Christian worldview and to let the world know about what they’ve produced. |
